Housing Needs Assessment

SNHPC Regional Housing Needs Assessment logo

In NH and throughout the country,  finding safe, affordable housing has put a strain on young people looking to become independent, on working families wanting to move close to schools, and on older adults wanting to downsize.  The scarcity of housing is even preventing businesses from recruiting and retaining workers. Impacts from the constrained housing supply impacts multiple aspects of local communities.

Throughout 2022, SNHPC conducted a Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) with multiple opportunities for public and community input. This housing needs assessment identifies challenges and opportunities within each community in the SNHPC region.

Updating the Plan
The Housing Needs Assessment, per State Statute, is updated periodically. The Planning Commission’s previous RHNA was adopted in July 2010.

The current regional housing needs assessment process has its own project information webpage, please visit the 2023 RHNA project page for more details.
