Bus Service
The southern New Hampshire region has a variety of bus services that are available to the public. These services range from helping riders get around their own community to connecting riders to the Manchester and Boston airports. This webpage highlights all of the bus services available in the SNHPC/RCC region. Services on this webpage include:

Terms to Know
- Fixed-Route Bus Service: Bus service that operate on a predetermined route according to a predetermined schedule. This service has published bus schedules and designated stops where riders are picked up and dropped off.
- Deviated Fixed-Route Service: These services operate on a predetermined route similar to fixed-route systems. The main difference, however, is that these services can deviate from their route to a specific location at the request of the rider.
- Inter-City Bus Service: Bus service that using coaches to carry passengers between different cities, towns, or other populated areas. Unlike a transit bus service, which has frequent stops throughout a city or town, an intercity bus service generally has a single stop at one location in or near a city, and travels long distances without stopping at all. Intercity bus services may be operated by government agencies or private industry, for profit and not for profit.
Boston Express
The Boston Express is an inter-city bus service connecting New Hampshire to Boston and Logan Airport. The bus stops in Concord, Londonderry, and Salem, before bringing riders to Boston’s South Station and Logan International Airport.

Concord Coach Lines
Concord Coach Lines is an inter-city bus service connecting New Hampshire to Boston and Logan Airport. The bus stops in several locations throughout Northern New Hampshire, as well as Concord, Londonderry, and Salem, before bringing riders to Boston’s South Station and Logan International Airport.

Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation (CART) - Salem Shopper Shuttle
The Salem Shopper Shuttle is a free deviated fixed-route service in the town of Salem, provided by CART. The shuttle operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, stopping at various housing and shopping centers throughout Salem, as well as the Ingram Senior Center. The shuttle can deviate three-quarters of a mile from its scheduled route to pick up/drop off passengers at their request.

Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) - Bus Service
The Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) was established by the State of New Hampshire on May 1, 1973, as a public transportation provider for the City of Manchester and the surrounding area. MTA operates over a dozen routes throughout the greater Manchester area, as well as a free shuttle service that circles downtown Manchester, called the Green DASH.

MTA Short Range Transit Plan
The Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) provides a five-year program for the continuing development of the MTA’s fixed-route bus and ADA complementary paratransit services. The document has been designed to provide MTA and SNHPC with the necessary information to review all aspects of operation. The SNHPC Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) includes funding for updates to the SRTP and the work is completed according to a September 26, 1995 agreement between SNHPC and MTA to maintain and update the SRTP. The SRTP includes a description and evaluation of existing transit service and provides recommendations. The recommendations included in the SRTP area re-assessed during the each subsequent version of the Plan.

Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) - Paratransit Service
StepSaver is MTA's paratransit service offered as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. This program assists individuals with disabilities who are unable to use the regular bus service. StepSaver covers areas of Manchester, Bedford, Goffstown, and Hooksett within three-quarters of a mile from the regular bus routes. An application process is required for rides.
