Transportation

SNHPC serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Greater Manchester region. Other areas of transportation expertise include:

• Ensuring all transportation programs using federal funds resulted from a continuous, comprehensive, and cooperative planning process
• Developing/maintaining a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and a Long-Range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP)
• Acting as a clearinghouse/conduit for other federal and state programs
• Performing traffic counts, impact studies, and field assessments
• Performing signal warrant, high crash location, and local trip generation studies for communities in our region
• Transit planning, including assistance to NH Transportation Council, Manchester Transit Authority, and Statewide and Regional Coord. Councils for Community Transportation
• Assisting Scenic Byway Councils and other local transportation-related organizations
