Mobility Management
Meet Your Mobility Manager
If you are unable to drive yourself, how will you get to your medical appointments, grocery stores, or other places you need to go? This is a problem many individuals face throughout New Hampshire, and it’s an issue mobility managers work directly to address. Since August 2022, Ben Herbert has served as the Regional Mobility Manager for Region 8 (see map below). As regional mobility manager, Ben works directly with individuals to connect them to transportation services that get them where they need to go. If you are in need of transportation, reach out to Ben at bherbert@snhpc.org, or (603) 669-4664.
What is Mobility Management?
Mobility management is a transportation strategy that prioritizes customer needs, and the meeting of these needs through coordination. It is an evolving concept that aims to improve specialized transportation for traditionally underserved populations. It looks beyond a single transportation service or solution to a “family of services” philosophy that can offer a wider range of services and options to meet an equally wide array of community demographics and needs. Ultimately, Mobility Management begins with a community vision in which the entire transportation network including public transit, private operators, cycling and walking, and volunteer driver programs work together with customers, planners, and stakeholders to deliver coordinated transportation options that best meet the needs of residents within each region of New Hampshire (see the NH Statewide Mobility Management Network Blueprint for more information).
The Vision
New Hampshire envisions an integrated system of safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation options that allow residents to maintain independence and participate in work and community life no matter their age or ability.
The Mission
The mission of the New Hampshire Mobility Management Network is to improve the coordination, capacity, accessibility, quality, and sustainability of mobility services statewide.
