Volunteer Driver Programs

Happy volunteer drivers holding up signs

New Hampshire is as unique as its residents, independent yet community-minded. We are a state of small communities with over 88% of communities under 10,000 in population. For residents who don’t drive, there are few transportation options. Although bus service is often unavailable, many communities are serviced by Volunteer Driver Programs (VDPs). There are over twenty VDPs utilizing hundreds of volunteer drivers to help thousands of New Hampshire residents - typically older adults - get to medical appointments, shopping, or other destinations.
