Environmental & Energy Planning

The SNHPC Region is home to major rivers and streams, great ponds and lakes, natural vegetative shorelines, sensitive prime wetlands, aquifers which offer or act as an important local source of drinking water, natural floodplains, forested or wooded lands in unfragmented blocks, significant wildlife habitat areas such as vernal pools, riparian corridors of 300 foot width, wetlands, existing agricultural lands, and high quality agricultural soils. Each of these important resources has a significant role in defining the region’s future growth and development.

SNHPC is involved in a variety of environmental planning efforts ranging from local, town-focused projects to environmental and energy planning efforts impacting the entire region.
