POPULATION

The SNHPC's 2000 population of 248,838 represents an increase of 14.9 percent since 1990. This compares to increases of 13.4 percent in Hillsborough County, 13.2 percent in Merrimack County, and 12.8 percent in Rockingham County over the same period. The SNHPC region had 93,194 total households in 2000, with family households accounting for 69 percent of this total. There were 2.7 persons per household, while family size averaged 3.2 persons.
