CENSUS SNAPSHOT
The SNHPC is the regional repository for U.S. Census data and information. Every 10 years the U.S. Census releases data on population, housing, employment, and income characteristics. This data is summarized at the various levels in four Demographic Profiles presented in one pdf file. Following is a general summary of each:
DP-1: Profile of General Demographic Characteristics includes population by sex and age, race, household type, housing occupancy, and housing tenure
DP-2: Profile of Selected Social Characteristics includes population by school enrollment, educational attainment, marital and other status, residence, place of birth, language spoken at home, and ancestry
DP-3: Profile of Selected Economic Characteristics includes population by employment status, commuting to work, occupation, industry, class of worker, income, and poverty status
DP-4: Profile of Selected Housing Characteristics includes the number of housing units by units in structure, year structure built, rooms, year householder moved in, vehicles available, house heating fuel, occupants per room, value, mortgage and rental costs, and selected other characteristics
